BIOT: e-changing tourism in 2012

The town of Biot recently equipped its tourist office with a digital communication system focused on the issues of Web 2.0.

A system designed for internet users, through the website www.biot-tourisme.com.

But also a system for the increasing number of mobile internet users, through the mobile version of the website and a Visit Biot application available on iPhone and Android.

Biot-tourisme.com: a tool suited to the new ways of promoting tourism.
The clear objective for the tourist office is to generate an increased flow of customers to the tourist business in Biot. A commercial approach optimized by an international standard through the use of language domain names, in English and Italian.
These help with the exchange of information by allowing comments to be made on all the website's articles, sharing them on social networks, interacting with other internet users and making the website fully interactive. By offering these opportunities, the tourist office improves its website's visibility and consequently that of interested professionals. It is a showcase for all the artists, glassmakers and craftsmen in Biot, which already enjoys the Ville et Métiers d'art accreditation. It is also a promotional tool for the museums, stores, accommodation facilities, restaurants, etc.
Attracting as many people as possible, the many features on the Biot tourist office website, including first and foremost establishing a profile (family, couple, disabled, group, professional) enable any visitor to the town, individuals or professionals, to plan and organize a tailor-made stay.

biot-tourisme.com is therefore a site resolutely focused on the user

Mobile Version: handling 50% of web traffic.
In France, there is now 1 mobile internet user for every 2 internet users. 6 million French people connect to the mobile Internet every day, which is twice as many as a year ago. In the last 3 months, 92.6 % of these mobile internet users have viewed at least one website, whether or not it was optimized for mobile use. The managers in Biot therefore considered that it was very important that the tourist office adapted its website for mobile use in order to build loyalty among these users who are increasingly demanding more from websites and applications.

Visit Biot Mobile Application: available free on iPhone and Android.
Visit Biot is one of the 124 applications available on the iPhone from French tourist offices.
Promoting visits to the town: free and dedicated exclusively to Biot, this application aims to promote the town by offering fully geolocated content, particularly by offering a route with an audio guide function available in English and French.
This application also aims to build loyalty among tourists by enabling users to receive the latest information on tourist news and events in Biot, in the form of notifications.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
