3Roam elected by Barhein Broadband for its network backhaul

3Roam products and services have been elected for the deployment of Bahrain Broadband over Barhain.

Based in Sophia Antipolis, 3Roam is a leading innovator in advanced networking for high-capacity wireless IP backhaul. 3Roam provides a complete portfolio of microwave transmission products enabling Gigabit-class wireless point-to-point interconnections for Service Providers and Private Networks.

3Roam products and services have been selected by Bahrain Broadband Bahrain Broadband, operating one of the first eco-friendly wireless networks across the globe under the brand name Greenisis, for the deployment of its backhaul network over Bahrain.

Evolving in a highly competitive environment, Bahrain Broadband required rapid and safe deployment, while operating in a technically challenging environment.

3Roam was able to provide a 100% outdoor network set-up thanks to its leading AERO product. AERO's integrated Gigabit switch has been key to combine both incoming traffic in addition to the local base-stations on all outdoor sites.

AERO has also been offering first-class network uptime even though Bahrain's climatic conditions are one of the most difficult transmission environments on earth (up to 50°C, 90 % humidity and heavy sand winds). Furthermore, due to Bahrain's congested spectrum, the entire backhaul network has to operate in the least favorable 38GHz bands.

In addition to AERO products, 3Roam has been providing design and planning services to Bahrain Broadband for its backhaul network. Thanks to its custom engineering proposal, 3Roam helped provide maximum link availability and keep deployment costs on target.

"We are very satisfied with 3Roam's products quality and the superior network uptime they provide. Beyond their products, 3Roam have entered a real partnership with us and contribute to the high-quality standards of services we offer to our broadband customers", declares George El-Aily, CEO of Bahrain Broadband.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
