Grasse Perfumes: from Lithuania to Michael Jackson

Galimard will be responsible for creating the Lithuanian perfume and the "Michael Jackson" perfumes will also come from the City of Perfume.

Lithuania is planning to create a national perfume which should be "a great example of how to promote Lithuania in an innovative way" according to the Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Minister.

The "Lithuania" perfume should be a blend of sandalwood, cedar and musk. The Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Ministry has already presented a bottle of this new perfume to all ambassadors in the capital.

The Grasse based company Galimard was given the responsibility of creating this perfume and producing the first one thousand bottles. The perfume should be distributed to the various Lithuanian embassies abroad, along with airports and hotels.

“Lithuania-scented" candles are also due to be sold from next month. A line of related products is currently being designed.

Franck Rouas, a 38 year old Nice resident was chosen by the “Jackson clan” to pay tribute to Michael Jackson with two perfumes. This new range of “Tribute to Michael Jackson" perfumes, designed by a Grasse based perfumer, Joseph Rubino, will officially be launched in the United States on 7th March 2011 and in France this summer.

Franck Rouas was able to convince the Jackson family to create both men’s and women’s fragrances from the flowers in the garden at Michael Jackson's home, Neverland. Franck Rouas designed the scents in partnership with Joseph Rubino, a Grasse based perfumer who works with Julian Rouas Paris.

The raw materials for the perfume’s production will come from MPE (Matières Premières Essentielles). This company, located in Grasse, was created in 1982 by Roland Scarpa. Its core business is the trade in essential and solid oils from the Mediterranean basin.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
