MDI: three compressed air cars on sale from next year
The Luxembourg company MDI, based in Carros will produce and market compressed air vehicles from next year.
Established by Guy Nègre, the Luxembourg company MDI, with its administrative and production departments based in Carros, has developed an environmentally friendly car engine that uses compressed air as an energy source.
The company which has already signed partnerships with the region's companies, has announced that from next year it will market three compressed air cars, just in Italy for the moment:
- The AirPod, driven by a 10 bhp engine and able to reach a speed of 80 km/h
- The AirOne and its 20 bhp engine that can reach 100 km/h
- The AirCity with its 35 bhp engine should reach 130 km/h
For the moment, the range of these various vehicles is still unknown. One this is certain however, from 2013 the Italians will be able to travel 100km for €1 without emitting a single gram of CO2.
