SCS Pole: 9th OCOVA forum “Smart Communicating Territories”

The 9th edition of the OCOVA forum is dedicated to communicating solutions for territory management and promotion, and the development of services to people.

Following the discussions from OCOVA 2011, the SCS Pole, Torino Wireless Cluster from Piedmont, SIIT Cluster from Liguria and the town of Gap are engaged in a cross-border project to develop a communal approach to smart communicating territories.  OCOVA 2012, which will take place 12th and 13th September in Gap, will present the objectives of this project in detail along with the perspectives it offers for the players of the territories concerned.

Many of the innovation promoters would like to participate in OCOVA. Among these, next to the poles and clusters offering solutions are SCS, Minalogic, Torino Wireless, SIIT, ARCSIS or Telecom Valley, who will  also be present in the competitiveness clusters and PACA clusters implicated in the control and management of water, waste and biodiversity (Ea-Ecoentreprises), detection and risk management (Risk Pole), sustainable development and energy (Capénergies).

The OCOVA 2012 forum will consist of two workshops focusing on wireless and mobile communication solutions applied to environmental issues “Detection, alert & risk management”, and “Control and management of water, waste and biodiversity”, and two workshops dedicated to services to communities and people “Mobile tourism, commerce, culture and services to communities”, and “e-health and other services to people”.

Following the work from 12th September, the morning of 13th September will be the first “OCOVA Business Convention”, bringing together SMEs and innovative start-ups, big industry, research laboratories that will present and demonstrate their solutions and products, as a prelude to face-to-face business meetings with major accounts, communities, potential partners, and financers.  It will offer a 4-hour session entirely dedicated to business development and partnerships to the most innovative companies and laboratories from PACA, Rhône-Alpes, Piedmont and Liguria regions.

The afternoon of 13th September will be open to the public for “OCOVA Meetings”: schools and students that want to discover new sectors of employment and career opportunities, communities, users and the population wishing to better understand these smart communicating solutions that are reshaping our future.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
