Whoog has chosen Sophia Antipolis to develop an innovative mobile application

Whoog Software has chosen Sophia to develop an innovative communication application for Smartphones. The focal point with Guerric Faure, founder of Whoog.

Can you describe your activity in a few words?

Whoog is a Young Innovative Company (YIC) that designs, develops and markets a communication application for Smartphones.

Currently in the experimentation phase, we are committed to a pre-marketing phase in order to anticipate the release of the first product on three downloading platforms (I-os, Android and WindowsPhone).

Whoog is supported by various renowned partners, such as Telecom ParisTech, OSEO Innovation and Microsoft.

What makes your company different? What are your latest innovations or those to come?

Whoog develops an application that transforms Smartphones into a mini personal call centre, to manage urgent communications or unforeseen problems that require the support of your community in one click.

Our starting point was the fact that planning tools like Doodle, Facebook Event or Outlook didn’t allow a quick enough response to unforeseen problems or urgent communications. To do this, users revert back to SMS and phone calls, which don’t always give an optimal response, especially if the correspondent is unavailable or unreachable.

Our society innovates by these algorithms for calculating availability and the implementation of artificial intelligence devices.

Whoog is the easiest and fastest way to find support of those who are the most widely available among, for example, family, friends, colleagues, and organise a dynamic collaboration between these people.

An intuitive user interface making the most of the possibilities of Smartphones is in fact an application that is extremely easy to use.

Whoog is ready to respond to many cases of varied use, personal or professional: coordination, time saving and efficient, assistance, resource management, etc.

What are the reasons of you being located in Côte d’Azur? What support have you received or are currently receiving?

The Côte d’Azur, and particularly Sophia Antipolis, has world leaders in ICT and a few hundred SMEs and research laboratories; several large institutions are located locally, like SCS Pole.

The support measures, and particularly Telecom ParisTech incubator, provide start-ups with the best kind of fertiliser, encouraging growth. This ecosystem encourages meetings and focuses on the varied and international skills; it is a stimulating framework for developing our activities.

We have also received a letter of encouragement from the Mayor of Valbonne which tends to prove the effectiveness of policies to expand our local start-up ecosystem.

What are your prospects on growth and development?

Our prospects of growth and development are important, in France and internationally, because we will develop a new use for hundreds of millions of Smartphone owners and users of the planning tool around the world; these are all “Whoogers”!

Whoog is currently recruiting future solution users (societies or associations) who are interested in testing the Beta version.

They chose the Côte d'Azur

"Sophia-Antipolis is a very attractive region for any semiconductor company, for several reasons. The first one is that in the technology park of Sophia-Antipolis there is a solid tradition of analog and digital design, which is due to the presence of other big companies working in the same or similar markets, like Texas Instruments, Intel, STM and others. The second reason is linked to presence in the technology park of the Polytech'Nice-Sophia and other important schools.

That will guarantee our future growth since the region will always offer both experienced design engineers and you talents to hire."
