Combining Space and IT expertise to preserve the environment
With its wealth of space and IT expertise, the Côte d’ Azur is a hotbed for developing innovative energy solutions to help preserve the environment. Many new applications are being developed for earth observation as well as for environmental studies, satellite navigation and the management of natural risks.
Cannes is home to Europe’s premier satellite systems group Thales Alenia Space, which has led to a large number of specialized sub-contactors establishing in the region. In addition, the presence of the prestigious Ecole des Mines and many other specialized research laboratories has enabled the Côte d’Azur to build up a worldwide reputation in the environmental field.

Bio
Philippe MORETTO is investment manager for the sectors of earth observation and satellite applications, aerospace, defence, maritime and transport. In 2007, Philippe has managed an ambitious project feasibility for a Galileo application center and is involved in economic development for 7 years. He has worked for 9 years for international companies in marketing & sales positions. His latest post was as marketing manager for European markets within the corporate services department of the investment bank Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Philippe has a master degree in business administration (ESC Pau) and has fulfilled his military obligation with a military civil service (VSNE) by Cargill Inc in Hamburg, Germany.
