The French Swimming Federation has announced a major change in the organization of the second edition of the Giant Open Series. Initially planned to take place across two separate sites, the competitions will now be centralized at a single location – the Jean Bouin swimming pool in Nice, from March 17 to 20, 2024.
This geographical refocusing presents an opportunity for the city of Nice to strengthen its position as a major sports hub in France.
The elite of French and international swimming will gather in the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, aiming to secure a spot in the Giant Open finals, which will be held in Saint-Germain-en-Laye from March 23 to 24.
Nice: A Major Player on the International Sports Scene
The City of Nice’s commitment to hosting major sports events is once again reaffirmed. Indeed, Nice has positioned itself as a prime destination for numerous international-scale events. In addition to the Giant Open Series, the city hosted the Hopman Cup in 2023, matches from the Rugby World Cup, the IronMan, and will be the host city for six football matches of the Olympics and the finish of the Tour de France in 2024.
