Foreign investment on the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) increased in 2015, as revealed by the latest study published by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice Côte d’Azur (CCI NCA). Below is the first part of our report devoted to foreign companies operating on the Côte d’Azur in 2015.
There were 2,033 foreign-funded institutions on the French Riviera in 2015, representing 1,299 foreign-funded enterprises and 34,680 jobs. It is noted that the headquarters of these establishments are mainly located in the European Union.
Among the new foreign companies operating on the French Riviera in 2015, Titan, Dolby, TDK, Ansys and Bosch were notably supported in their investment decision by Team Côte d’Azur.
When asked about their reasons for investing on the French Riviera, these foreign companies typically cited the possibility of recruiting a highly skilled international workforce, mastering advanced technologies in the fields of ICT, Environmental Technologies and Health.
This factor was decisive for Bosch, who opened a center for research and development of autonomous vehicles in Sophia Antipolis, housing a hundred engineers specializing in embedded electronics and image processing. “In 2015, we chose to establish ourselves in Sophia Antipolis because here we undoubtedly face a more favorable community that supports research and development in the field of vehicle electronics.” – Heiko Carrie, President of Bosch France at the inauguration of the new R&D center of the group in October 2016.
