Christian Estrosi, President of the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur et the Region Provence Côte d’Azur (PACA) welcomed this news: “Beyond this excellent idea to welcome for the first time a delegation of Israeli CleanTech startups to Nice, the entire PACA region that supports its leadership in allowing for innovative Israeli companies to succeed in the French Market.”
Israel and the Côte d’Azur have built a connection that has led to several meetings between their two innovation ecosystems. The dynamic French Tech Côte d’Azur has organized several events with Challengy’s network including a French Tech Côte d’Azur-Tel Aviv Conference, that was held at the Home of the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur in Paris, and a startup acceleration program organized by companies in Tel Aviv, Silicon Valley and Sophia Antipolis.
Yossi Dan, co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Challengy hopes to go even further within the collaboration between Côte d’Azur and Israel: “It has been several years now that our teams, based in Paris and Tel Aviv, have been working together on innovative projects that have drawn France and Israel closer together. Nonetheless, this marks a first step in the CleanTech sector, where the complementary ecosystems can not only lead to commercial agreements or R&D between the two countries, but also helps them do business together on the international market.”
Within this context, the internet startups under the Israeli Cleantech banner will meet their Azurian counterparts at a cocktail networking organized outside the Innovative City conference on June 15th.
