Double Tree by Hilton Opens in Nice

The Double Tree by Hilton Nice Centre Iconic has officially opened its doors, marking the arrival of Hilton’s first establishment in Nice. This new four-star property is located below the Thiers train station and Jean Médecin Avenue.

Inaugurated by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the futuristic building was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind. Jacques Richier, Vice-President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis in charge of the economy, employment, tourism, industry and innovation, Philippe Journo, president of La Compagnie de Phalsbourg, and Maxime Salembier, general manager of the hotel, also attended the event.

Iconic: A Multi-Use Building

The building houses commercial retailers and will soon open two schools and a 1500 square meter fitness center. Philippe Journo highlighted the unique aesthetics of this construction, which harmonizes with the neighboring Haussmann-style train station, and expressed his gratitude to the mayor for trusting the project.

A Strategic Investment

The Hilton hotel, with its 105 rooms and suites, offers high-quality soundproofing and views of the renovated neighborhood. Christian Estrosi emphasized the importance of generating private investments from public investments, stating that efforts to beautify the city attract investors willing to commit to Nice’s future.

Boosting Tourist Attractiveness

This hotel, Hilton’s 30th in France and its first in Nice, is part of an expansion strategy that plans to open 2000 additional rooms over the next three years. This will support the organization of major sports and cultural events, attracting both business and leisure clients.

This new opening follows the development of the territory’s high-end hotel offerings, with recent openings of the Hôtel du Couvent, the Anantara Plaza, the Crowne Plaza, the Sheraton, the Hôtel Palais Ségurane, the Maison Albar Le Victoria, the Hôtel PAM, and the Hôtel Mama Shelter Nice.

Tourism Growth

The development of this hotel offering reflects the healthy state of tourism in Nice, with an average of 10 million visitors per year and 6.5 million euros in overnight stays. The hotel occupancy rate has been steadily rising since January, supported by events such as the Étape du Tour and the arrival of the Tour de France.
