  • European Investment Ranking : Nice is ranked the 4th best European destination for investment by Forbes USA, thanks to the stability of its real estate market.
  • Global Visibility: The city hosted the grand finale of the Tour de France in 2024 and will strengthen its international influence by hosting the United Nations Ocean Conference in 2025.
  • Ambitious Environmental Commitment: The Grand Parc de la Plaine du Var plans to plant 140,000 trees to restore biodiversity, as part of a broader program to plant 280,000 trees by 2026 (“One Tree, One Resident”).
  • Digital Presence: Nice is a social media star, with 95 million posts on Instagram and 10.2 million on TikTok.

With 5,592 new residents in 2022, Nice confirms its appeal through a unique combination of quality of life, innovation, and environmental commitment. This growth, part of a sustainable 4% increase since 2017, places the city among the most dynamic French metropolises.

Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, and Deputy President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, celebrated these results:
“These 5,600 new Niçois are 5,600 additional proofs of our city’s attractiveness. Our efforts to make Nice a great place to live, work, and invest are paying off. The more Nice innovates and undertakes, the more it attracts and seduces. I warmly welcome all the new residents joining us and invite them to take an active part in the life of our beautiful city.”

Ranked first among major French cities for quality of life (Journal du Dimanche), Nice stands out for its safety, excellent infrastructure, and high-quality healthcare services. This ranking, which also places it 13th among French municipalities of all sizes, reflects a positive momentum reinforced by strategic municipal investments. Each public euro generates ten euros of private investment, supporting key sectors like culture, education, events, and higher education.

Nice: A Green and Dynamic City

Nice asserts itself as a “Green and Blue City of the Mediterranean,” blending sustainability and innovation. Key initiatives include the Grand Parc de la Plaine du Var, which plans to plant 140,000 trees to restore biodiversity and transform the valley into a sustainable landscape. The “One Tree, One Resident” program aims for 280,000 plantings by 2026, confirming Nice’s position as a national leader in green urban heritage.

The city is also increasing cooling areas with projects like the Esplanade De Lattre de Tassigny and Bourgada, while expanding green spaces and promoting soft mobility. These initiatives reflect a comprehensive and innovative vision, positioning Nice as an urban model for addressing climate challenges.

Nice: 4th Best European Destination for Investment

Nice also stands out as a prime destination for investors. Ranked 4th in Forbes USA’s list of the best European cities for investment, it is noted for the stability of its real estate market, which ranks first in this domain. For over three decades, no real estate investment in the city has resulted in losses, an asset further enhanced by the scarcity of new construction and strong international demand.

Investors from around the world are drawn to Nice’s unique combination of competitive square meter prices, abundant sunshine, and proximity to transportation infrastructure.

National and International Appeal Confirmed

Nice’s influence extends beyond national borders. In 2024, it hosted the grand finale of the Tour de France, and in 2025, it will host the United Nations Ocean Conference. These international events strengthen its role as a strategic hub for sports, environmental, and economic issues. Additionally, its status as a social media star (95 million posts on Instagram and 10.2 million on TikTok) contributes to its image as an attractive and modern city, directly benefiting the tourism and commerce sectors.

With sustainable policies, economic stability, investment opportunities, and recognized quality of life, Nice continues to attract residents, businesses, and investors, solidifying its position as a key European metropolis.
