On February 19, under the auspices of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, local economic actors, in the presence of Marcel Ragni, President of the Ragni group and theUIMM Côte d’Azur, gathered to officially mark the recognition of the metropolis as a “Industry Territory”.
This label, valid for the period 2023-2027, highlights the metropolis’ commitment to industrial development and job creation, reflecting a strategic vision to strengthen the attractiveness and competitiveness of the territory on a national and international level.
Towards a new French industry
Christian Estrosi emphasized the need for a “new industrialization” in France, praising initiatives such as “Made in France” and the importance of maintaining strong production capacities on the national territory. This strategic orientation aims to maintain France as a global industrial power, with key players in sectors such as nuclear, aerospace, health, and transportation.
A powerful local industrial fabric
With a turnover of 3.5 billion euros in 2022, industry surpasses tourism in the metropolis, illustrating the vitality and growth potential of the local industrial sector. Companies in the region, leaders in their markets and recognized internationally, are highlighted for their dynamism and innovation capacity.
Four-part action plan
The industrial development strategy is broken down into four main axes: stimulating innovation and digital transformation, resolving land constraints, supporting the ecological transition, and promoting industrial careers to young people.
This action plan aims to create a favorable environment for business development, investment, and employment, building on the strengths of the territory and mobilizing economic and academic actors.
