Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an essential driver of development for the territory, highlighting its potential to address current economic, social, and environmental challenges
In this dynamic, a significant partnership was formalized on Friday, April 12, between Region Sud and Microsoft.
This alliance aims to integrate advanced AI solutions within the public administration and to create synergies with local businesses, marking the first axis of the AI strategy.
Piloting AI Innovations in Administration
At the heart of this transformation, ten AI use cases will be tested in administrative services over the following eight weeks. These tests will focus on practical applications such as using AI to scan and process supporting documents in grant applications and to automatically generate meeting minutes.
These initiatives are based on technologies such as Azure OpenAI Service and Copilot for Microsoft 365, promising substantial productivity gains.
Anticipation of New Initiatives
Region Sud plans to unveil new actions at the end of June, building on the results of the first deployments and feedback from users involved in this experimental phase. This progressive approach underscores the region’s willingness to adapt and respond dynamically to the results of ongoing innovations, ensuring a thoughtful and effective integration of AI into its administrative and economic structures.
“Useful artificial intelligence for everyone, for each of the inhabitants of our region, it’s possible! By joining forces with Microsoft, our region is taking on a new dimension – always in the service of the common good. This collaboration between Region Sud and Microsoft will improve the quality of our public service and securely develop artificial intelligence for our businesses. It is already part of our daily lives, in our uses! It is up to us to know how to use it, with the help of the most experienced and qualified, for our territories and our lives,” said Renaud MUSELIER, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, Delegate President of Regions of France.
“Microsoft France is very pleased to support Region Sud in its desire to become a showcase for innovation and to put artificial intelligence at the service of the territory’s economic development. An ambitious goal, for which we are committed to supporting the adoption of AI by the region’s agents, deploying targeted training programs, and promoting the acculturation of the region’s businesses. As AI represents a unique opportunity for all French organizations, Region Sud is clearly leading the way,” commented Jean-Philippe COURTOIS, Executive Vice President and President, National Transformation Partnerships, of Microsoft Corporation.
