Acute3D, a technology software company from Sophia Antipolis who specializes in modeling of existing conditions, has joined Bentley Systems Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure last February.
Acute3D : A local success story
The company, created in 2011 by Renaud Keriven and Jean-Phillippe Pons, was supported by Paca-Est Incubator and Team Côte d’Azur in its early development.
Acute3D now owns a standalone 3D reconstruction technology, made possible by numerous partnerships between the company and the industrial and research sectors (INRIA, Ecole des Ponts Paris Tech, Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment).
The Smart3DCapture software, which can produce easy and comprehensive 3D modeling from mere photographs, gained international acclaim and enabled the company to collaborate with industry leaders such as Airbus or Tencent, the Chinese Internet giant, who is using it to create 3D models of entire cities in mega-urbanization projects.
Bentley Systems acquires Acute3D’s technology
Last February, Bentley Systems, a leading company in sustainable construction softwares, acquired Acute3D’s technology.
Created in 1984, Bentley has more than 3000 colleagues in 50 countries. Its products provide industry and construction actors with solutions to evaluate resource-efficiency with information modeling in smart infrastructures integrated projects.
In joining Bentley Systems, Acute3D is going back to its project’s roots: adapt reality modeling to industry while guaranteeing a high level of detail in conception and construction activities. The company has started working with Bentley on large-scale projects to develop tomorrow’s smart infrastructures.
