An exceptional performance in the first half of 2024
Nice Côte d’Azur recorded excellent tourism performance during the first half of 2024. The hotel occupancy rate increased every month compared to 2023 (+3.4 points), accompanied by a significant increase (+11.6%) in RevPAR (revenue per available room).
In January, the occupancy rate reached 48%, an increase of 2.5 points compared to 2023. This positive trend continued in February with an occupancy rate of 61%, an increase of 5.2 points, and in March with a rate of 69%, an increase of 4.4 points.
A dynamic second quarter
The second quarter reinforced these promising results. In April, the occupancy rate reached 79.5%, an increase of 2.5 points compared to the previous year. In May, Nice hotels recorded an occupancy rate of 84.8%, an increase of 5.6 points, and in June, the rate remained stable at 89.6%, equal to that of 2023. School holidays and spring climate attracted foreign and French clients, particularly during the bridges of May.
Optimistic summer forecasts
Prospects for the summer period and the start of the school year are also very encouraging.
In July, a peak in bookings is expected on the weekend of July 20 for the Grande Arrivée of the Tour de France. In August, booking rates remain stable and systematically higher than those of August 2023. In September, booking rates are significantly higher, with a 10-point increase compared to September 2023, due to the IronMan Women’s World Championships, which will take place from September 16 to 22, 2024.
Nice Côte d’Azur’s strategy, combining a rich event calendar and constant efforts to improve the tourist offering, seems to be bearing fruit. These positive results from the first half suggest a successful year 2024 for this emblematic destination of the Côte d’Azur.
